Characterizer is a small, free application that lets you convert any image to ASCII text, which is also known as ASCII art.
The only requirement you need to convert your photos is that they are in either JPG, BMP or WMF formats. The result you get with Characterizer is a simple text file, in .txt format, that follows the shape of the image. Characterizer offers you the chance to establish the size, specifying the number of characters that form the width and height of the photo.
Also, to get excellent results with Characterizer, you can select among four rendering modes, invert the colour or add noise effects to your photos.
